Voyage Itinerary

If only all weekends could be like this, which will see you go from the heart of the French Riviera to the Eternal City. The adventure begins in Nice, followed by a late-night stay in Marseilles. This gives you lots of time to gaze in wonder at Notre-Dame de la Garde, take a ferry to Château d'If, try some of France’s best bouillabaisse (which first originated here), and finish with a pastis aperitif.

Next up is a late-night stay in Saint-Tropez, where you can stroll along the harbor, relax on famed beaches, and shop your way down rue Gambetta. Or travel into the surrounding countryside to discover charming villages and some of the best wines of Provence.

Return to Nice for a late-night stay to meander the Promenade des Anglais, explore the Old Town, visit the fragrant flower market, or even take a 20-minute train ride to Monaco. Then it’s on to Bastia, Corsica, with its wild terrain, coastal vistas, medieval sites, and fascinating neighborhoods like Terra Vecchia and Terra Nova. The journey ends, fittingly enough, at one of the best places on Earth, since all roads (and voyages) lead to Rome.

A half hour from the bustling city center lies the peaceful, tranquil shores of volcanic Martignano Lake, enveloped by scenic views of pastures and wildlife inside the Martignano and Bracciano Park. These protected areas serve as our backdrop for today’s activities: an immersion into a rural, authentic experience at harmony with Mother Nature. These 140 hectares of land are filled with rolling grain fields, forage valleys, and cedar woods. The organic orchard that lies within is strictly cared for and nourished according to the rules of biological farming. And it’s from here that you’ll embark on one of the area’s oldest traditions: the art of making bread. Watch grain turn into flour and learn how to make gnocchi with a hands-on lesson—followed by lunch—under the dappled shade of the trees that sit lake-front, as you indulge in the organic products of the farm. After lunch, witness the milking of sheep and the incredible process that turns milk into cheese. Then go on a horseback ride through the woods, arriving at the hilltop for a bird’s eye view of the surrounding lakes, rolling hills, and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
