Your next destination is considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world and a must-see for every cruise traveler: The Panama Canal. The day is spent navigating this engineering marvel before arriving in Panama City for two full days of exploration. Two days at sea will have you feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for your arrival in Peru’s cultural capital, Trujillo. A bustling city with a storied history, you can spend the day exploring Peru’s pre-Incan wonders before setting sail to an overnight stay in laid-back Lima. Seafood enthusiasts will want to dig in to Lima’s famous dish, ceviche. Made from raw fish cured in citrus juices and a rich tapestry of spices, it’s sure to be the perfect bookend to an incredible journey.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Baltra, Galapagos. During World War II, Baltra served as a U.S. military base protecting the Panama Canal from enemy attack. Now the cactus-strewn landscapes of Baltra are home to the region’s main airport and where you will meet the ship. From the airport, it is just a short bus and Zodiac ride to the ship for embarkation.

Daphne is a satellite volcanic cone located north of Santa Cruz Island. The crater floor is an important breeding site for blue-footed boobies. Bartolomé Island offers one of the region’s most photographed views, and is a spectacular geological setting. Its barren moon-like volcanic landscapes, spatter cones, and pinnacle rock make for a unique stop. Excursion options: hike up some 368 stairs “To the Top” of the volcano, a Zodiac ride, and an optional beach swim or snorkel.

Behind one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in all of the Galapagos, you will find two small ponds that often have flamingos feeding in the shallows. It is also one of the largest nesting areas for the Pacific green sea turtle. Deep water snorkeling is available for experienced snorkelers.

A small island just north of Baltra, North Seymour is home to the largest colony of frigate birds in the Galapagos. While keeping an eye out for male frigates trying to impress potential mates with an inflated red neck pouch, you may also see blue-footed boobies dancing in a timeless courtship ritual. Sea lions and large land iguanas also roam about this rocky terrain. Excursion options: a guided, long rocky walk, Zodiac ride and short easy walk; or simply a scenic Zodiac tour along the coast to view wildlife and the geology of the area. Experienced snorkelers will also have an option of deep water snorkeling.

A cruise booking number and at least one deposit payment is required to purchase a tour. Tours may be purchased online or by calling us up to four days prior to the cruise departure date. After that time, tours must be booked onboard.

Tours purchased prior to the cruise departure date will be charged to your credit card in the same currency as your cruise reservation. Tours purchased onboard will be charged in U.S. dollars to your KeyCard account. Exchange rates are determined by a competitive pricing program.

The providers of tour arrangements are independent contractors and are not acting as agents of representatives or Azamara Club Cruises. In no event shall Azamara be liable for any accident or harm to passenger, which occurs as a result of any acts, omissions, or negligence of any independent contractors.
