The Gateway to the Land of 365 Beaches

Dating back to 1632, St. Johns is the capital city of Antigua and Barbuda, and a little tropical paradise located in the heart of the West Indies.

With a staggering 365 beaches, you may have a hard time choosing where to catch some rays (although Galley Bay Beach is popular). So to help in the decision-making process, go for a boat tour around the island to find the perfect beach just for you, or instead hike to the top of Mount Obama for spectacular views. Visit St. John’s Cathedral, with its towers that dominate the skyline, or take a day trip by ferry to Antigua’s sister island, Barbuda. And be prepared to shop until you drop in a city that’s renowned for its duty-free stores, malls, and boutiques that sell everything from haute-couture clothing to jewelry.

Dominating the city skyline, St. John’s Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of the North East Caribbean and Aruba. Although the cathedral is currently undergoing renovations, the graveyard is still an interesting sight to visit for history buffs. Many of the tombstones date back to the 1700s.
