OverviewHide
Day One
Depart the port for Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch your outbound flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Upon arrival, you’ll check into an acclaimed 5-Star hotel which will serve as your launching point for an epic journey into Khmer history. Join your group for dinner and get to know your fellow explorers sure to be just as excited as you to discover Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (not to mention the other legendary cities and temples from the ancient Khmer Empire found on this archeological expedition). Enjoy a good night’s sleep and awake refreshed and eager to start your journey.

Day Two
Awake to breakfast at the hotel and set off to the day’s first discovery – Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmers established in the 12th century. Though its wooden structures have long since vanished the stone monuments testify to Angkor Thom’s greatness. Marvel at the Elephant Terrace and stand mystified at Bayon Temple, where 54 might columns are graced with 216 massive faces carved with half-smiles. Continue to the Ta Prohm Temple, a labyrinth of stone hallways overgrown by banyan trees with limbs that seem to envelope the ruins like tentacles. Return to the hotel for lunch before your epic exploration of Angkor Wat. Uncover the secrets of the world’s greatest religious complex, built by King Suryavarman II and encompassing over 400 acres. It’s estimated that Angkor Wat took 30 years to build. Unlike all other Khmer temples, Angkor Wat faces west and is the only one that’s been continuously occupied by Buddhist monks. Remarkably well preserved, Angkor Wat is surrounded by intricate bass reliefs that each recount a different tale. Together, they tell a story you’ll never forget. After the exploration, share dinner with new friends before catching your return flight to Bangkok.
