Share one of the sweetest culinary traditions of Tuscany during a hands-on workshop in the heart of Portoferraio. You’ll stroll through town to a charming venue where you’ll meet up with an Elba baker. Listen and learn, as this island aficionado guides you in preparing “cantucci”, the Tuscan answer to biscotto. These irresistible almond cookies are traditionally dunked in Aleatico, a local dessert wine, however, you’ll find them equally scrumptious plunked in hot coffee or tea. Learn how to carefully twice bake these little jewels to deliver the perfect texture and flavor. While your cantucci are in the oven, step outside to a small square overlooking the Gulf of Portoferraio for a tasting of local wines paired with island cheeses and other snacks. Afterwards, return to the ship with your homemade cantucci in hand. Savor them with Aleatico or your morning coffee. Better yet, why not both?
