Li Mountain Farm & Otterness
The joys of Norwegian farm life are yours to discover. Meet the farmers at Li Mountain farm and relax in a beautiful orchard. Later, a farm host leads you on a walking tour to Otterness, an ancient farmyard turned outdoor museum.
Travel to the Li Mountain Farm in Aurland to discover the joys of Norwegian farm life. Farming in this part of Norway is relatively new. Until about 2,000 years ago, natives hunted and fished only. Now, Aurland is known for its fine goat herds and their delicious, creamy cheese. Meet the farmers who live at Li and enjoy a few snacks while relaxing in the beautiful orchard.
Afterwards, walk natural historic paths to the hamlet of Otternes with one of the farm hosts guiding the way. In Otternes, a collective farmyard turned outdoor museum, tuck into a lunch of Norwegian specialties in a peaceful picnic area. This land was originally settled in approximately 300 A.D. before buildings were constructed over a thousand years later. Today, exhibits of rural crafts and lifestyle artifacts highlight the rustic charms of the former collective. Soak up the placid outdoor ambience of this gorgeous fjord region.

Batik Making Process
Journey to a village known as a haven for traditional batik cloth design. Watch as local artisans create colorful patterns and motifs, then try your hand at batik making for a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
Follow the intricacies of batik making with a chance to try the techniques under the guidance of a traditional Javanese cloth maker. An exciting ride through the bustle of Semarang opens up into countryside on the way to the village of Mateseh. A tiny place known for its kingly tribal lineage, the village today is the home to Kampoeng Batik, a cloth-making haven known for its colorful artisanal batik. Watch a demonstration by local craftspeople. A series of waxen silhouettes and multi-colored dye baths imbue the once-white fabric with gorgeous designs ranging from soft, geometric patterns to animal motifs.
After the demonstration, enjoy the option of making a batik alongside one of Kampoeng Batik’s experts for a beautiful, personalized souvenir of this marvelous day. Relax into the afternoon with locally authentic snacks, coffee and tea while the Batik’s owner shares conversation about his business and leads a tour of the batik gallery.
Colombian Coffee Experience
Travel through the old city of Cartagena to a colonial house and take part in a coffee cupping ritual with all the hallmarks of a wine tasting. Along the way view the imposing San Felipe fortress overlooking land and sea.
