Enjoy a picturesque drive along coastal alpine landscapes to the ferry for a short crossing to Kjerringoy Island, once the wealthiest center in northern Norway. During your visit, local guides will show you around this fascinating village that seems to have been overlooked by the passage of time. You'll gain insight into the daily lives of the fishermen and smallholders who called the coast home during its Golden Age. Profitable at the end of the 19th century, owners thrived in the fish trade, coastal shipping, and imports and exports. You can browse its 15 buildings preserved in their original setting and a short film tells the story of the trading post in its heyday. Afterwards, there will be free time to explore on your own before sitting down to enjoy a local lunch.
