2018 World Journey

Departing from Singapore, it’s worth getting there a couple of days early.  Singapore will surprise you; modern architecture, incredibly clean, and one of the safest cities in the world.  A must-see on any trip to Asia. Golden pagodas, colonial-era buildings, shop houses and jazz-age mansions wait in Yangon in Myanmar. We’ll be spending two nights in this exciting port, so make the most of it and set out on an overnight Cruise Global, Connect LocalSM shore excursion to explore the ancient temples of Bagan.

Then—after two relaxing days at sea—it’s on to the spice island of Sri Lanka, where cinnamon and clove gardens make the air amazing, and temples honor the ground where Buddha walked. Watch the Jungle Book come to life at the beautiful national parks around Hambantota, then visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where these charming animals are not orphans at all, but wander in family groups.

From Cochin, you can take an optional plane ride for an overnight at the Taj Mahal, a must on anyone’s bucket list. We go next to Goa, truly unique among other Indian ports thanks to its days as a Portuguese colony. Glamorous with a hint of religion, Mumbai presents a striking contrast to the laid-back beach vibe of Goa. Wander this crazy, innovative city past colorful temples, along Mumbai’s Chowpatty Beach, into restaurants with sizzling crab, and up terraced shopping centers. Hurray for Bollywood.

Finally, we end the voyage with an overnight in the fascinating city of Dubai. Foodies will delight in eating authentic global cuisine, from traditional Bedouin maqlube, to famed chef Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Then head to a dance temple or a cocktail cavern for an evening of intrigue.

Want to see more? This voyage is part of Azamara’s first ever World Journey. Embark on the adventure of your life—102 days of extraordinary, from the Land Down Under to enchanting London.

Please note that a multiple entry Indian tourist visa is needed for guests of any nationality. E-visas are not valid for entry / exit by sea, so please check with local embassy for visa application requirements.
