AzAmazing Evenings are authentic, exclusive bespoke events that capture the sights, the sounds, and the tastes of the destinations we visit. It could be a big fat Greek wedding celebration in Chania, Greece, a D-day Liberation Party on the Shores of Normandy for the 70th anniversary, or you could be an exclusive guest of Francis Ford Coppola at his state-of-the-art winery in Napa Valley California. In some cases the event may take place onboard, as during an overnight in Tuscany, where three local tenors serenade you. But whatever your destination, there is an AzAmazing Evenings Event complimentary on your voyage, (except Transatlantic) and tailored to your specific itinerary. And it is truly destination immersion at its finest.
Corsican Traditions in the Salt City – 3-August, Porto Vecchio
Celebrate traditions of old Corsica at a historic salt-producing property owned by the Mayor of Porto Vecchio on the Fiume Stabiaccu estuary. Porto Vecchio is called the “The Salt City” for its many salt pans, an important source of island income since Roman times. You’ll be impressed by a welcome from the Napoleonic Imperial Guard, an elite group of French Army soldiers with a historic pedigree as Napoleon’s private reserve. Walk the grounds with beautiful views of the old city, and savor Corsican desserts, local wines and beverages, and delectable cheese fritters that you’ll see made by hand. Featured entertainment is a Corsican band and choral group performing the polyphonic music that’s become part of the island’s national identity.
We ask that you sign up for this event online at least four days prior to your voyage.
