Dr. Christopher Whelan, Special Interest Lecturer – World Affairs

Dr. Christopher Whelan received his law degree and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. In the UK, he is associate director of International Law Programs and a member of the faculty of law at the University of Oxford as well as a barrister (specializing in employment law). In the US, he is professor of law at Washington & Lee University. In Germany, he is a lecturer at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. He has authored over 60 publications on lawyers' ethics and access to justice, corporate finance and corporate governance, employment law, and the European Union.

Richard Wainio, Destination Lecturer

Richard Wainio has held executive positions in the global transportation industry for 35 years in countries throughout the world. He held executive positions with several international ports and shipping companies including eight years as CEO of the Port of Tampa. Mr. Wainio has an M.A. degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. from Davidson College. He has served as an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, chairman of the Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development Council, and was president and executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Panama
