Dr. John Renninger is currently adjunct professor of global affairs at New York University. In 2007, Dr. Renninger retired from the United Nations after 30 years of service. Upon his retirement, he was a director in the Department of Political Affairs, where he was the highest ranking US national. He was responsible for monitoring political developments in various regions of the world and providing political advice to the Secretary-General.
Karlyn Holman is a prolific and internationally recognized artist, author and art instructor. She has owned and operated an art gallery since 1968, with abstract and realistic nature being the driving force in her paintings. Karlyn has a loose, spontaneous painting style and an energetic, encouraging teaching style. Her workshops offer guided instruction as a basis for creating a look of spontaneity. Once armed with knowledge and mastery of basic techniques, students are able to venture into the fascinating world of watercolor and freely explore without boundaries.
Dr. Judith Ewell earned her Ph.D. in Latin American history from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, and her B.A. in history from Duke University. In 2004, she retired after 32 years of teaching Latin American history at the College of William and Mary. As a senior Fulbright lecturer, she has taught in Spanish at universities in Venezuela and Ecuador. Judith is fluent in Spanish and has lived in and traveled widely throughout Latin America.
Jim is an ACBL Life Master and is accredited for directing and instruction. He is a former President of the ACBL Eastern Michigan Bridge Association and operated an ACBL club there. Jim has developed lecture programs compatible for the cruising industry and has served as the Bridge Instructor on a variety of vessels. After retiring from General Motors in 2000, Jim became a home-based travel agent, concentrating on cruises and retiring in 2009. He was a member of CLIA with certifications from various cruise lines and now enjoys applying his talents to teaching and directing contract bridge on board.
