Start with extra days in Caldera with easy access to a handful of Costa Rica's great national parks, followed by an overnight on the lush Peninsula Papagayo. Then it's on to less-traveled Nicaragua, EI Salvador and Guatemala, places that may surprise you with their volcanic beauty. Visit colonial Granada or take a boat ride on Lake Nicaragua dotted with islands. In EI Salvador, follow the Route of the Flowers winding through picturesque small towns. And in Guatemala, don't miss a visit to the awe-inspiring Mayan ruins of Tikal or to Antigua, a stunning colonial town nestled between volcanic peaks. In Mexico we'll dock in Huatulco for a long day of swimming, snorkeling and eco-tours, followed by the resorts of Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.
