Take tea in Bridgetown, and if it weren't for the tropical breezes, you'd think you were in London. In Gustavia the flavor is distinctly French, with chic boutiques, cafes, and bistros. There are remnants of Danish sugar plantations in St John and a Spanish fort in Virgin Gorda. Inviting towns and villages are set against jagged green peaks where you can hike to sweeping viewpoints, dazzling beaches with sands of many hues where you can sun, and some of the most irresistible crystal clear waters you will ever have the opportunity to swim in. Or snorkel. Or fish. Or speed over.
