Just off the coast of Naples floats the Isle of Capri of song and legend, a popular getaway spot since the Emperor Tiberius built his holiday villas here a couple thousand years ago. The coastline is best discovered by boat, and is marked by secluded beaches and hidden caves, most famously the Blue Grotto with its intense azure waters. Anacapri’s old town makes for fascinating walks along secret pathways, with La Piazetta in the center, a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Breathtaking panoramas can be viewed by taking the chairlift to the top of Mt. Solaro, for 360 views of Anacapri, the countryside, and the Bay of Naples.
